Where to start

Submitting Your Graduate Thesis

 

Follow the steps below to submit your thesis for open-access publication via ProQuest. Kares Library will cover the fee for making your thesis open access.

  1. Create an account on ASU ProQuest ETD: https://www.etdadmin.com/?siteId=1213 

  2. Open-Access: Kares Library will cover the fee to make your thesis openly accessible. Be sure to select this option.

  3. Review and accept ProQuest’s Publishing Agreement.

  4. Determine your embargo preferences:

    • If you wish to delay public access to your thesis, you can choose an embargo period. For more information on embargoes, refer to this guide: Embargo
  5. Provide contact information, using a non-ASU email address.

  6. Enter your thesis details, including:

    • Title and abstract
    • Degree information
    • Relevant subject categories and keywords
    • Thesis committee members
  7. Upload your thesis PDF:

    • Ensure the document conforms to ProQuest's formatting standards.
    • If applicable, upload additional copyright documents.
  8. Upload any supplemental files related to your thesis.

  9. Do not select ProQuest’s copyright registration service. Copyright will not be handled through ProQuest.

  10. (Current ASU students) Under the pre-order copy option, select the 8.5x11-inch option (1 copy).

  11. Submit your thesis!
    If there are any issues with your submission, library staff will contact you to make the necessary corrections.
