What to Expect

Dr. Erskine's Recorder Reserves for Oral History Project

Due Dates

There are 15 separate recording kits are set up as reserve items with a 7-day loan period for Dr. Erskine's students completing the Oral History Project.  

Check Out

Library staff will follow the steps below when checking out recording kits.

  1. Verify all items are in the kit matching the Recorder Kits Inventory Page on the back of the kit bag and in the Master Equipment Checklist.
  2. Have student sign the Kares Library Recording Kit Checkout Agreement. Place signed copy in Recording Kit folder.
  3. Check out the kit using the barcode on the kit bag after verifying each item is present.
  4. If necessary to ship the item, ship using a “signature required” option.

Check In

Library staff will follow the steps below when checking in recording kits.

  1. While student is waiting, verify each item is in the kit by using the Recorder Kits Inventory Page on the back of the kit bag, or in the Master Equipment Checklist. If the list is missing from the Kit, print another copy for the kit before returning the kit to storage.
  2. Verify that each item has been cleaned and is functional.  If not, identify the broken items and charge for damage.
  3. If everything is accounted for, clean, and in good condition, check in the kit by barcode on the kit bag.
  4. If a student needs to ship the kit back, they must use a “signature required” option.
